First Aid Updates

First Aid has changed with the introduction of new 2006 resuscitation guidelines [1] released by the Australian Resuscitation Council.

Some excellent charts [2] that I found while I was searching for updates are available from Parasolment;

  • Basic Life Support Flow Chart 2006 (PDF)
  • CPR Chart 2006 (PDF)

A FAQ “following the release of the NEW ARC guidlines” [3] is also available from the Australian Resuscitation Council giving clarification to the intent of the changes.

Spring, paper-rock-scissors?

Spring has sprung
Well today marks the start of Spring

Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdies is?
The birdies on the wing.
How absurd the wing is on the bird.

Seems like a good time of year to be reviewing the environmental impacts of our office paper purchasing. The Department of Environment and Conservation (NSW) has some excellent booklets on exactly this topic, and they for the basis of our paper purchasing decisions (and have done so for several years)

  • Know Your Paper – Purchasing Recycled Content Office Paper (Apr 2004, PDF 1799kb)
  • Know Your Printing Paper – Purchasing Recycled Content Paper for Corporate Stationery and Promotional Materials (Jun 2004, PDF 810kb)
  • Office Products – A Guide to Sustainable Purchasing and Use (2002, PDF 1146kb)
