Tour de France 2007 XV

Tonight we have Stage 14 ( Mazamet to Plateau-de-Beille ) covering a distance of 197 km. Into the Pyrenees we go.

Climbs:
Km 9: Côte de Saint-Sarraille: 9.0 km climb @ 5.3 % grade : 2nd Cat.
Km 146.5: Port de Pailhères: 16.8 km climb @ 7.2 % : HC
Km 197: Plateau de Beille: 15.9 km climb @ 7.9 % : HC

Coming the day after the tough stage 13 time trial, and with two steep hors catégorie climbs in the final 65 kilometres, stage 14 will definitively separate the pretenders from the contenders for the win in the 2007 Tour de France. [Cycling News]

Wow…Vinokourov crosses the summit 8’17 behind the leaders. They were in turn 2’54 up on the yellow jersey group, so Vino has lost 5’23 to Rasmussen and the other contenders. [Cycling News]

cliff notes? It seems we have a few readers that don’t know the background and need a quick revision. Perhaps this is due to reviewers who are only jumping in at book 7?
