Bad news for those following the story of missing climber Andrew Lindenmayer. Many of us will have read his writing and followed his advice in Lonely Planet guides.
The body of missing Australian climber Andrew Lindenmayer will be cremated on the Chinese mountain where he died.
The body of Australian climber Andrew Clem Lindenmayer has been found in China’s south-west.
He went missing in May trying to climb Mount Gongga and villagers found his body at Riwuqie Peak, 4,600 metres above sea level.
His family has agreed to have his body cremated on the mountain where he was found.
They will then return his ashes to Australia. [ABC News]
The climber and Lonely Planet author had been missing since May 2007 in the Gonga Shan in Sichuan province, China.
