Description:
Cannot use PVX as it crashes on connection after calling:
vvsys application … has encountered a problem and needs to close
Using Windows XP SP2 and Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 on an HP nx6320 laptop. I haven’t seen this fault before.
This machine connects ok with Skype and Windows Messenger.
Solution?
As PVX is using quite a lot of CPU and Memory. So, Please help to consider to reinstall the application. Don’t forget to memo the key code as well.
Few configuration to check,
1. Setting -> General -> performance – set it to balanced
2. setting -> Video -> Advanced – Camera driver set to Medium or Low.
3. Make sure PC has enough resources for PVX.
hope this will help,
Regards, Asia Support

Also tried;
Setup > General > General > Never use ViaVideo hardware
RESULT: Still broken
UPDATE 2008-03-18
After finding the problem on a second machine we went back to our change logs for these base images and have discovered that the culprit is the QoS RSVP Service. On our machines where PVX crashes the service was disabled, on the working machines it is set to Auto. Change the setting and the problem is solved
