2009 Tour Down Under

The 2009 Tour Down Under is on 18 to 25 January 2009. Lance Armstrong is to make his comeback to world cycling at this years Tour Down Under with the Astana team. Andre Greipel and will return in 2009 to defend his 2008 title.

Stage 5: Sat 24-JAN-09, 148km, Snapper Point to Willunga
Stage 6: Sun 25-JAN-09, 90km*,Adelaide City Council Circuit ( LIVE on SBS )

As a part of the UCI ProTour, the Tour Down Under is guaranteed to see a strong field, with the top eighteen teams in the Pro Tour sending some of their best riders.
Because the Tour Down Under is the first race of the 2009 UCI ProTour series, whoever comes out as overall winner will also become the first leader of the UCI ProTour and so pull on the special UCI ProTour leader’s White jersey.
