95th Giro d’Italia 2012

This weekend sees the start of the Giro.
The 2012 Giro d’Italia is scheduled to be the 95th edition of Giro d’Italia. It is scheduled to start in the Danish city of Herning, and end in Milan. The complete route of the 2012 Giro d’Italia was announced in mid October. For the first time since the 2007 edition no climbing time trial is included in the route.
The color of the jersey for the mountains classification has been changed for this year’s edition from green to blue. The move comes at the behest of sponsor Banca Mediolanum, who has renewed its support of the mountains classification for a further four years [2]
In Australia, SBS will show more live stages of the Giro d’Italia than ever before when the first of cycling’s three Grand Tours begins in May. Eight stages of the iconic race will be shown live on SBS TWO as well as daily highlights. Howe awesome!
