Critérium du Dauphiné
June 3-10 2012
The 2012 Critérium du Dauphiné is the sixty-fourth running of the Critérium du Dauphiné cycling stage race. It is being held from 3–10 June, and has been rated as a World Tour event on the UCI calendar, which is the highest classification a race can have. It will begin in Grenoble and will conclude in Châtel after seven stages and a race-commencing prologue stage.
The race is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation, the same group that organises the Tour de France. It is generally viewed as a great preparation for the Tour de France, hence why a majority of the contenders for the general classification of the major tour are participating in the Dauphiné. It features mountainous stages as well as an individual time trial quite similar in length to those that await the riders in the Tour. — wikipedia
In Australia, SBS will be showing all stages. What’s a little more sleep deprivation?
