Stage Details:
Tonight is Stage 2, Visé > Tournai, 208 km
As the route goes through Belgium, it will offer possibilities to fighters but it is highly likely that there will be a massive sprint finish at the end of the stage. Maybe those disappointed the day before will take their revenge. When the riders go through Tournai, it will provide us with an opportunity to remember Wouter Weylandt, who had the last victory of his career during the Circuit Franco- Belge in 2010. — Christian Prudhomme’s Analysis

The intermediate sprint brings back the old HTC Train for a reunion Gos, Renshaw and Cav.
The stage was characterised by a three-man breakaway from Anthony Roux (FDJ-BigMat), Christophe Kern (Europcar) and mountains jersey wearer Michael Mørkøv (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank), who escaped after 22km. The trio managed to open up a lead of eight minutes over the peloton, before the RadioShack-Nissan team of yellow jersey Fabian Cancellara began to pull them back, and they were finally captured with 14km to go.

Then another HTC reunion for the sprint to the line Gav, Goss and Greipel.
Mark Cavendish (Team Sky) claimed the honours in the first mass sprint of the 2012 Tour de France. The Manxman came around arch rival Andre Greipel (Lotto Belisol) to claim his 21st Tour stage win in a photo finish. Third place went to Orica-GreenEdge’s Matthew Goss. Fabian Cancellara (RadioShack-Nissan) finished in the group to easily maintain his overall lead.
