SPARKvue for iOS

SPARKvue By PASCO scientific
Having had several discussions along the lines of ‘if Nike can use a data logger for their shoes in iOS, surely there is a method to log other data loggers’ we have found that this is the case.

SPARKvue brings real-time measurement, data visualization, and analysis to science education everywhere. Students can use the new PASPORT AirLink 2 Bluetooth interface to connect to over 70 PASCO sensors, measuring a wide range of phenomena, including pH, temperature, force, carbon dioxide level, and many more. SPARKvue is designed for scientific inquiry in biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physics, and physical science. SPARKvue can also record data from the iPhone or iPod Touch’s internal accelerometer, with no additional hardware needed. [1]

SPARKvue for iOS is available for free now on the App Store and gives a small sample of what is possible for data collection and analysis on your iPad.
The free app provides anytime, anywhere science measurement using the range of PASPORT sensors, plus the built-in accelerometer on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Sparkvu HD for iOS will be available at an estimated cost of $10, this is the full version of Pasco’s iPad software interface for use with the AirLinks.

Bring the full-featured version of SPARKvue to your iPad:
* Get the full advantage of SPARKlabs . . .
* With the full capabilities of SPARKvue . . .
* Plus, wireless sensing with over 70 PASPORT sensors
SPARKvue HD includes 61 free SPARKlab interactive learning activities that integrate rich content with live data collection and analysis
[3]

In order to connect the PASPORT sensors wirelessly to your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, you will require an Airlink 2 interface [4] and whichever sensors your investigations require. (Cost $284.72 per Airlink)

Even without PASCO sensors, you can use SPARKvue to collect data from the internal accelerometer in your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. With no external sensor connected, SPARKvue defaults to measuring the resultant acceleration from the internal accelerometer, but you can change the axis of measurement when you setup your experiment. Now for some testing …
