Matt Owen is a tuba player living and gigging in Birmingham, Al. He has taken a wide range of classical training and blended it with styles, technique, and digital equipment influences of today’s popular music to deliver rocking Eclectic Tuba grooves. In 2012 alone, Matt has performed at clubs and bars, and massive house parties in Chattanooga, Macon, Birmingham, Savannah, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and Roanoke. He recently came in 3rd place in the Sonicbids: Road to Roo competition in which fans can vote for their favorite bands to play in the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Matt held on to 1st place for more than 50% of the competition. He has shared the stage with Maps and Atlases and Fishbone. In August of 2012, Matt will be featured in Underground Artists Live in New York City.
