AJ 2013

And the reason that Visible Procrastinations has been so quiet to start of this year is that at 6am on 1st Jan 2013 we jumped on a bus at La Trobe Uni and drove straight up to Maryborough (QLD) for the 2013 Australian Jamboree with 12,500 Scouts. The charging facilities are few and far between, and the Optus 3G is even worse so posting is almost impossible (I have been focusing on Facebook and Twitter).

Here’s a few links so you see what’s happening up here in Queensland;

ANZAC Day 2008 – Their Service, our Heritage

“They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

We will remember them

Brownsea Island Re-enactment
3-5th August 2007
The Scout section will hold a re-enactment of the first Scout Camp held by BP on Brownsea Island. The program will include activities from the first ever Scout camp held on the island to educate our young people about the history of Scouting, but also include modern activities to reflect the future of Scouting. At the same time a Brownsea Island Re-Enactment will be held in the UK and a video link up or JOTA style link will be made between the camps.

At the Jamboree, and especially on Sunrise Day, we will all come together as one under the banner of Scouting. With this in mind, we would like each Troop to bring a purple World Scout flag to the Ceremony. This is in contrast with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies where national flags are encouraged. We want the whole arena to be ‘Scout Purple’ for this Ceremony. [eng.thejamboree.org]
