STAGE 09 Sunday, July 7th, Saint-Girons > Bagnères-de-Bigorre (169km Mountain)
Today’s damage was forecast early by the sprinters, they had the autobus clean, refueld and ready for action for stage 9.
Today's stage should have been piss easy compared to tomorrow. Which absolutely terrifies me! Nice to see @chrisfroome in yellow.—

With the action being ‘on like Donkey Kong’ before SBS had gone live on free to air, viewers on the Tour Tracker had been following an amazing race.
No delay. No pre-stage chit-chat. Going straight to live #sbstdf from 10pm (AEST) This is a cracking stage!—

Remember how everyone said the race would play out after last night’s finish – follow Sky to the finish in Paris. What did we get tonight? Yeah, well not that! SBS dumped Gate and straight into the racing.
Mountain stages; the Peloton crumbles into breakaways, chasers, where the hell is the Peloton – who riding where? Where is this shot coming from confusion. this is what we love about it 😉 Some amazing tactical racing today with a real shake up after the story that was expected after Stage 8.
We even managed some Monty Python moments with a visit to the shrubbery; (Peter Kennaugh takes a tumble)
And with no panda in sight, Dan Martin (did you know Dan Martin’s uncle is Stephen Roche? #sherliggettisms) takes the stage in a sprint.

#TrollDJ – Stage 9
The Troll went early;
♫ #RoadsideRandom – *noise!* … ah, nah that’s not going on my play list 😉
Following up with the real deal;
♫ Beatles – Helter Skelter :: “coming down fast but don’t let me break you” technical descents
♫ Trampled by Turtles – Again :: “take it all in, don’t let it burn you out”
♫ The Killers – All these Things That I’ve Done :: “Don’t you put me on the back foot” #YellForCadel
♫ Dropkick Murphys – The Warriors Code :: because it’s all won in the mountains and you “fight for your life”
♫ R.E.M. – Everybody Hurts :: “hold on, hold on” it’s only a Cat 1 climb o.O
♫ EMF – Unbelievable :: great win by Dan Martin
♫ Paramore – Now

The Ad Breaks
Not so much the adverts, as the timing. To make it clear;
DO NOT PUT THE ADVERTS ON AS SOON AS WE START THE TECHNICAL DESCENT!
We interrupt this break in this boring stage of the Tour to show you ads.—

A Chance to win a trip to the 2014 Tour de France from SBS and a dietary supplement? Not a bad advert – if we weren’t having the whole Essendon FC dietary supplement meltdown during the race. Doh!
WARNING: I’m just going skip the Essendon FC / WADA joke I had prepared for today.
