A quick voiceover track cleanup

A recent project required the removal of a baseline air conditioner hum from some voiceover tracks. As these voiceovers were recorded in many smaller files (based on the slide they referred to) we needed a batch processing method to apply to all of the files. This was managed using NCH Wavepad;

1.) Sample the noise
Effects > Noise Reduction > Grab Noise Sample From Selected Area
The quiet section at the end of the file gave us a baseline noise sample

2.) Remove the noise
Apply Spectral Subtraction based on sample

3.) Batch Processing
Then we batch filter
Tools > Batch converter
(Remember to save a copy of the filter C:\temp\audio\ … \*.wpb)
Setting the Noise Gate -22dB ( or perhaps -20dB / -18dB depending on the voice )
