2014 Jayco Herald Sun Tour

Founded in 1952, the Jayco Herald Sun Tour is Australia’s sun tour oldest cycling stage race. The race is owned and backed by the Herald Sun newspaper, Australia’s largest daily and part of the global News Limited Group. The Tour is a major professional teams-based event which includes some of the best cyclists from Australia and all over the world. This year the Jayco Herald Sun Tour is back to being a UCI 2.1 ranking allowing the WordlTour teams to compete.

Prologue – Wed Feb 5 2014 : Birrarung Marr – SouthBank (2.5km)
* 4:30pm Official Teams Presentation – Federation Square
* 6:45pm to 8:00pm Prologue

Stage 1 – Thu Feb 6 2014 : Geelong – Ballarat (125km)
* 10:30am to 1:45pm* Stage 1

Stage 2 – Fri Feb 7 2014 : Ballarat – Bendigo (165km)
* 10:30am to 2:50pm* Stage 2

Stage 3 – Sat Feb 8 2014 : Mitchelton Winery – Nagambie (157km)
* 10:30am to 2:30pm* 9:30am to 1:30pm* Stage 3

Stage 4 – Sun Feb 9 2014 : Arthurs Seat (124km)
* 2:30pm to 5:30pm* Stage 4

    1/2 Due to extreme weather conditions @victoriapolice have advised organizers that 2days final stage of the #suntour will not proceed.
    2/2 there is no immediate danger to Arthurs Seat #suntour stage, emergency services have been diverted 2 areas under threat across the state
