You may have seen posts on social media where I had been promoting #BeatTheSun and prompting people to vote for Ben Hirst as the Asia-Pacific representative. Ben won the popular vote by 2000+ votes.
#ASICS has not just ignored the popular vote, but appears to have a rigged back end process that ignores the voting process entirely. Remember this when you are shopping for sports gear, and perhaps shop with a brand that is up front and builds communities rather than a brand that uses marketing smokescreens.
It seems that ASICS’s social media strategy is to be a ostrich and wait out the anger without responding (Hello Streisand effect!). Because of this, it is worthwhile taking up the issue with the #BeatTheSun Technical Partners as well, they may have a more clued in marketing department.
