Tuesday Tunes‬ #236 – Rollercoaster

rollercoaster Rollercoaster
Last weekend was the Roller Coaster Run which ended up with roller coasters in the terrain, and in the emotions after having to pull out after the first loop. Not surprisingly this week’s Tuesday Tunes is focusing on roller coasters.

A roller coaster is an amusement ride developed for amusement parks and modern theme parks. LaMarcus Adna Thompson obtained a patent regarding roller coasters on January 20, 1885, which were made out of wood, but this patent is considerably later than the “Russian mountains” described below. In essence a specialized railroad system, a roller coaster consists of a track that rises in designed patterns, sometimes with one or more inversions (such as vertical loops) that briefly turn the rider upside down. The track does not necessarily have to be a complete circuit, as shuttle roller coasters demonstrate. Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained.[2] Two or more cars hooked together are called a train. Some roller coasters, notably wild mouse roller coasters, run with single cars.

And now for some music …

♫ Red Hot Chili Peppers – Love Rollercoaster
Rollercoaster, yeah (ooh ooh, ooh ooh)
Oh, baby, you know what I’m talkin’ about
Rollercoaster of Love (love rollercoaster, child)
Oh, yeah, it’s rollercoaster time

♫ Lilo & Stitch – Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride
Lalala i kala hanahana
Me ke kai hoene i ka pu’e one
It’s time to try the Hawaiian Roller coaster ride

♫ U2 – Helter Skelter
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.
