01.) Light a campfire, toast some marshmallows, eat s’mores
🔥 It’s Winter – light a campfire and Toast marshmallows over the campfire. Even better if you are away camping and you happen to have a nice enamel cup of port or muscat.

02.) Walhalla Vinter Ljusfest
❄️ Walhalla Vinter Ljusfest will return in 2017 from 1 to 27 August!
Every evening a light, moving image and sound display will operate in the main street of Walhalla from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. You’ll see Walhalla as you’ve never seen it before! Don’t miss the Walhalla Vinter Ljusfest light display or the special events. Discover the fascinating history and hidden secrets of Walhalla on a Ghost Tour. Catch the Walhalla Vinter Ljusfest LIGHT TRAIN and see Stringers Gorge on these special night trains as you’ve never seen before. With colour and movement it’s a great way to experience the Walhalla to Thomson line in a totally new way.

03. Winter Solstice Festival
🔥 The Winter Solstice Festival @ EDENDALE FARM in Eltham is a great event for the whole family to celebrate the longest night of the year!
We’ve got something for everyone ~ Live music, delicious food, a wonderful kids’ lantern parade, mulled wine, fire entertainers and an enormous, sculptural bonfire.

04.) Rooftop Glamping

05.) Whale Watching at Warrnambool
🐳 Almost every year between June and September, female Southern Right whales return to the waters of Warrnambool’s Logans Beach to calve. The whales often swim within a hundred metres of the shore. They can be viewed from a specially constructed platform in the sand dunes or from the beach.

06.) Indoor Rock Climbing
Indoor climbing is an increasingly popular form of rock climbing performed on artificial structures that attempt to mimic the experience of outdoor rock.

07.) Go Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is an outdoor snow activity that involves strapping on special snowshoes. The shoes take up a larger area than your foot and they work by evenly distributing your weight across the snow so that you do not sink into the snow.
⛄️ Lake Mountain:
Take a snowshoe tour with a resort guide – the Snowsports Centre is able to arrange group or individual packages to fit your requirements. Make it a weekend by staying at Marysville at the base of Lake Mountain
⛄️ Mt Stirling:
Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management has created two interpretive walks on Mt Stirling ideal for exploring by snowshoe during the snow season – a 4.4km Wombat Drop Loop and a 12.3km Summit Loop.
Take a guided snowshoe tour with Stirling Experience and enjoy the stunning surrounds of Mt Stirling with an informative guide. Tours operate each Saturday from 1-4pm, and include snowshoe hire, tour and afternoon tea for just $40 (or $20 if you have your own snowshoes).

08.) Eureka Skydeck’s Giant Ice Slide
The Winter School Holidays will see the heart of Southbank once again transformed into an action packed winter wonderland when Eureka Skydeck present the return of the giant Melbourne Ice Slide for kids, parents and the whole of Melbourne to enjoy.
The slide will be operational from 1st to the 16th July 2017 and tickets can be purchased onsite on arrival. No wet weather gear required!

09.) Murder on the Puffing Billy Express
🚂 Murder on the Puffing Billy Express departs from Puffing Billy’s Belgrave station.
Join us at Puffing Billy’s Murder Mystery Dinner where you will enjoy an evening of deception and intrigue. As Puffing Billy steams into the ferny darkness of the Dandenong Ranges, you are tasked with getting to know the players in this tale. A hearty meal worthy of any private eye awaits at the Nobelius Packing Shed where the story unfolds. Dress to the theme of the 1920s and 1930s.
Arrival back into Belgrave station is approximately 11.30pm.

10.) Explore the inner city laneways
🏙 Explore Melbourne’s Arcades & Lanes and Street art. Locate a pub serving good food and local beverages, with an open fireplace or finish off with an Italian-style hot chocolate at Brunetti’s.

    The Alpine Camp at Mt Stirling provides SKI-IN SKI OUT ACCOMMODATION above the snow line. Your group will arrive to a fully set up camp, dry shelter and a warm fire. If there is skiing anywhere on the mountain, it will be at your front door, plus trails around the Cricket Pitch are of a gentle grade and a day trip to the summit is only a few kilometres. Even a ski tour to Craig’s Hut and return is achievable.
    PRICING – $140 per night, per tent.
