European Outdoor Film Tour 19/20

❝ ADVENTURE IS WAITING:
E.O.F.T. is back with the most inspiring and thrilling adventure films of the year.
The most renowned film event on the European outdoor calendar: The European Outdoor Film Tour (E.O.F.T.) came to Australia and New Zealand for the very first time last year, and is back with more this year.
E.O.F.T. features inspirational protagonists with a heartfelt passion for adventure and the great outdoors. Throughout the programmes of the last 17 years, we’ve followed one principle: We need no actors, no blue screen, no second takes. Only true adventure. THIS IS REAL.
No script, no actors, no special effects. ❞

LE MINIMALISTE – AN HIMALAYAN ADVENTURE
Eliott Schonfeld crosses the Himalayas from west to east. His only companion is his horse, Robert. While the snow-covered and icy passages become a serious challenge, Eliott acutely feels, that he may have spared too much on his equipment.

THE MOVEMENT
What happens when a diverse handful of rebels across the globe co-opts a sport that was long the dominion of yuppies? The answer is at the heart of THE MOVEMENT, an irreverent, music-driven story about the new revolution in running.

CONTRADDICTION
Powder days are a privilege as pro-snowboarder Elias Elhardt knows. But how can he reconciliate his environmental conscience with his lifestyle? CONTRADDICTION is a smart reflection of our passion for winter sports and the challenges of our day and age.

RETURN TO EARTH
Time is either spent wisely. Or it is just spent. Second after second; moment after moment… they’re all there for the taking. Return to Earth is a cinematic journey into the simple act of living completely in those moments by riding bikes.

21st CENTURY ADVENTURER
Sarah McNair-Landry is the youngest man to reach both poles on her own, but actually her thirst for adventure begins with the first breath. If you’re born on Baffin Island in the middle of nowhere, you probably have an adventure in your blood.
Even if she has already crossed Greenland five times with the kite, McNair-Landry is not immune from obstacles. As her kite gets tangled up in the safety line during the recent traversal, the 32-year-old tears ten meters and crashes headfirst onto the hard ice. Result: A broken thoracic vertebra. But McNair-Landry is used to biting through. She continues the journey with great pain, because 800 of 1000 kilometers are still ahead of her and her team.

AFRICA RIDING: KARI
Karim left a conflicting Burundi after his studies to ensure a more peaceful future in Rwanda. Naturally, he took with him, his pair of rollerblades, rollers that over time became an extension of his legs. Karim is a performer multiplying the jumps and figures on the road, which has the gift of fascinating his neighborhood. Thanks to his talent, the Rwandan high society hired him to teach his children and he took the opportunity to mix audiences with the young people of Gakinjiro, his neighborhood.
The AFRICA RIDING series goes out to meet a community of “riders” who participate in creating a new cultural and social order in Africa. From Ghana to Rwanda, via Senegal and Uganda, these crazy skiers entrust us with the keys to their “playground”: battered sidewalks, deserted places, bumpy roads or sandy trails … All obstacles that make these free spirits of real warriors on the asphalt as in life.

ZEPPELIN SKIING
“IT’S LIKE RAPPELLING FROM A CLOUD – 60 METERS INTO AN ABYSS”
That’s how three freeriders describe the experience of a world’s first. Stefan Ager, Andreas Gumpenberger and Fabian Lentsch took a leap of faith and abseiled from a giant airship onto the Valkastiel (2,233 m) in the Austrian Alps.
But that’s just the first highlight of their adventure. The descent is not for the faint of heart.
Apart from a few scratches the ski mountaineers took away one thing above all else – an unforgettable skiing moment in a class of its own.

THE LONGEST HOLE
ACROSS MONGOLIA IN 20.000 SHOTS
